Where is the home of light? It is there where no darkness can exist.

What makes pain go away? HEALING.

What dries our tears? HOPE.

What softens hearts? LOVE.

What orders chaos? PEACE.

But none of these things happen without the Lord making it so. Without Him, we remain pained, weeping, hating, and confused. Without Him, we are wandering in the darkness of living in a world filled with sinful humans.

“Where does light come from, and where does darkness go? Can you take each to its home? Do you know how to get there?” The Lord challenged Job with these questions as written in Job 38:19-20.

We know nothing, and we are as small and insignificant as dust particles. Everything under heaven is God’s, and He owes us nothing… nothing at all.

And yet, He offers freely His love, our existence on earth, blessings both big and small, and an opportunity for HEALING, HOPE, LOVE, AND PEACE… for all eternity. So, where does the light come from? Where is its home?

Zechariah, father of John (the Baptist) prophesied in Luke 1:78-79, “Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”

For the majority of my life, I realized that I was as insignificant as dust, and I knew that God owed me nothing. What I failed to realize, however, was that the one who came to be the morning light from heaven was sent for ME, and for ALL who believe that Jesus is who He says He is. And because He came to die in our place, His light remains within us.

The Lord had asked Job, “Where does the darkness go?” I don’t know the answer to that either, but I do know that the darkness within me is getting fewer and fewer places to hide as I continue to illuminate every area and ask Jesus to heal each and every hurting place in my heart. Satan keeps trying extra hard to pull me back into the darkness and make me believe the lies again, but the light is too powerful for him, and the truth wins every time.

HEALING, HOPE, LOVE AND PEACE… offered freely to all by Jesus from the beginning, but we get to decide whether we choose to graciously receive it or not. Accept it or not, the choice is yours.
