Why does the Bible tell us to be thankful in all things? Well, because it is through trials, temptations and suffering that a Christian gains Godly maturity and fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as described in
Galatians 5:22-23).
Have you ever had something traumatic happen and then walked through it with someone who experienced something similar and had come out the other side with additional strength, hope, maturity and wisdom? Their gained wisdom through overcoming is able to be passed along through connection, trust and compassion.
As humans, we aren’t designed to thrive by ourselves, so this is why we all work through hard times much better and faster with another. Jesus also suffered tremendously, so we can see that we’re in good company through life’s struggles and never alone. Jesus will ALWAYS respond with patience, wisdom, Godly direction and love, so bring everything to him!
The rewards are great for overcoming the hardships of this world as a righteous person who sins (if you believe that Jesus died for your sins, then this is you), so be thankful in ALL things!
You, my brothers and sisters, in Christ, are an OVERCOMER, and NO ONE or NOTHING can take that away from you, and your reward for following Jesus is greater than anything you will experience in this short earthly life.
Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:10-12 NIV
